Haven Place
Gather together.
Grow together.
Let’s study the Bible together.
One of my greatest joys is teaching the Word of God.
But I will often tell the women in my audience that I so wish we were gathered around my kitchen table digging into the Scriptures eye to eye, heart to heart. There’s something so beautiful and biblical about real-life, human connection.
When I look at the life of Jesus, He preached to the crowds, yes. But He also made space for breaking bread with broken hearts around tables. And He reserved time for sacred moments of individual ministry as well.
I want this. I feel called to this.
And so… I am making a way for this to happen more and more in how I walk out my ministry calling.
As president of Proverbs 31 Ministries, I lead a team of over 65 staff members who help me and our teaching team reach millions every day with solid Bible teaching and encouragement specific to the unique realities of being a woman.
Reaching the masses in these ways through technology is an incredible assignment!
But I also want to reach individuals and couples through more intimate gatherings held at our family’s home.
This is where the dream for Haven Place was born.
I’ve wanted a place to do deeper mentoring and Bible teaching for women. In a conference setting, I’m usually limited to the confines of only teaching a few 30- to 45-minute sessions. Not only will Haven Place allow for more teaching but also dialogue to take place with me and those gathered.
I’ve also wanted a place to help teach other Christian authors how to more effectively write their books. I’ve been doing this for years, but having a consistent place designated in part to this purpose will multiply the impact and allow me to help more authors.
And lastly, I’ve wanted a healing place where we can combine solid theology and biblically based therapy in a smaller conference setting.
My family and I have been through a lot in the past five years. We personally know the heartbreaking realities many families are walking through because of infidelity, loss, divorce, and other heartbreaks that require both emotional and spiritual healing.
All three of these desires will be part of the ministry work we do at Haven Place.
Since my kitchen table isn’t large enough for both my family and additional guests, we’ve built a space just a few steps from our front door where we can hold smaller gatherings of up to 100 guests.
