“But I am like an olive tree flourishing in the house of God; I trust in God’s unfailing love forever and ever. For what you have done I will always praise you in the presence of your faithful people. And I will hope in your name, for your name is good.” (Psalm 52:8-9)
Thank you for your love and prayers these many months since I last posted.
Not one prayer you’ve whispered on behalf of my family has been wasted. God is moving and we are so thankful. Art and I are both praying for a miracle and walking the road to healing.
We are clinging to the promises of God on this journey full of twists and turns, ups and downs. There is often a process God will take people through to prepare us for the Promise.
We are a work in process. And this process is often messy and unpredictable. I don’t know exactly what tomorrow will look like but I do know who I’ll be looking to… the Lord… whose love is unfailing and whose hand is the safest place to entrust my hope.
P.S. My mom lovingly suggested (completely bossed me around😊) that I start painting. I broke out in hives and thought it was the worst idea ever. And then I discovered I love painting. You were right Mom ❤️
I have been exactly where you are after 23 years of marriage. God is faithful – always. Prayers and hugs.
Dear Lysa,
You are more than you can even imagine. I pray for you and your family every day. You are one of the Strongest Women I have ever seen. God will lead you out of this into something even more amazing than you could ever imagine.
Your Sister in Christ
Susan
Lysa, I think it is a beautiful painting. I would be proud to put it on my wall.
All the best to you and your family.
In God’s arms.

So glad you are doing well.
praying for you and your sweet family.
Love and blessings.
Dear Lysa, thank you for sharing with us today. I was elated when I saw Art’s name and breathed a sigh of relief and excitement for you both. Thank you, God Most High.
Praying for you I’ve also walked this journey and I know from experience it isn’t an easy one. My prayers and thoughts are with you and your family now and in the days to come!
Lysa, you have been on my heart/in my prayers over the last months…thank you for letting us know God is faithfully ministering to you and showing He is loving you through these days, always and forever…
By the way, I tell everyone the “I Am” Study is my favorite study I’ve done (besides the Experiencing God study I did back in the ’90s 🙂 ) … Thank you for showing us the Holy Lands and using His promises of who He is for us in our lives… I still recite all of the “I Am” statements daily to remind my heart of the Mighty I AM!
This post was awesome! Congratulations on your drawing! Looks like a mighty oak tree! With new branches, new leafs, indicated by different shades of green! This all came from strong roots!! Planted firmly in faith .
. trust will grow! (Highly recommend all to read “THE OAK TREE”)
Praying for you and your family sweet sister. I will see you in a few weeks in Orlando!
Our Wednesday Night Ladies Bible Study at Covenant Church, Raleigh, NC, is doing the “Finding I AM” study and loving every word of it. We all (30 of us) will continue to be praying for you, Lysa, and for Art. Praying God’s will be done!! Love from all of us!

Dear Lysa,
I’m one of your MANY readers and followers. So thankful to see this post. You’ve crossed through my mind and in my prayers often. I’ve walked this road which led me to 19 years as a single parent. So HAPPY to read of God’s healing in your family and will continue to pray for Art as well.
Lysa,
Thank you for your post! Thank you for your faithful faith. Thank you for being an encourager and an inspiration to every woman who has ever been so blessed to read your words of response to the Word and Words of Almighty God. Thank you for showing yet another example of the Truth of God in the Mirror of God’s amazing Promises.
Love to you and your precious family.
Shirley
Praise God for His work in your lives! You have been in my prayers. I am also praying for my own miracle. My husband is under the control of the enemy, left us and filed for divorce. His addictions and depression are running and ruining his life. Praying our story has restoration in its future as well.
Lysa,
It was so wonderful seeing your email pop up in my in-box this morning. I’ve missed you and your encouraging words. Thanking God that you and Art are walking together towards healing. Thank you for your courage and willingness to share. Sending continued prayers your way, Lysa.
I’m so full of joy and gladness to hear how God is working in your marriage and how you continue to trust in Him. Will continue to pray for you and your family.
Lysa, thanks for sharing this with us. Continued prayers for you, Art, and your precious family, dear sister!
Thank you for your reminder that God’s hand is the safest place to put our hope. I am praying for you today-that you fix your eyes on Jesus.

Praying for you and your family as you walk through difficult times. God’s strength, peace & rest be with you as you journey through.

Dear Lysa,
I had been looking for an update from you from time to time & was so glad to hear from you today! God has done so many miracles in your life in the past & He will complete what He has begun in you and your family! (Phil. 1:6)
Continued prayers.
Lysa- although I do not know you personally, I feel you are my friend..(and Ill explain that weird comment.)
Five years ago when I was pregnant with our second baby, I found out my husband was having an affair. I felt like I couldn’t breathe. At that time I didn’t have friends to turn to and my family was not as helpful as I needed. But God lead me to Proverbs 31. And everyday you would write something so encouraging and funny. I would look forward to your messages everyday. And for some reason (GODsequence) they always pertained to what I was going through and what my heart needed to heal at that moment. It was as if through your writing God brought me the friend that I so desperately needed. I will be praying for you and your family. I pray my prayers will touch your heart and help you, they way your words have helped me.
Lysa…..I have longed to see a post from you! You and Art have been in my prayers. I am going through a similar situation in my marriage. We have been separated for 2 years and just the last two weeks I have begun to see movement in our journey. Please if you think of all of us that have written to you, collectively can you just say a prayer for our marriages. You are a beacon for all of us to see your raw emotions…..and how the good hand of God is upon you. Your painting is beautiful! Just like you. What you are painting shows what is in your soul. God continue to work in your and Art’s lives. How wonderful. To God be the Glory……
Praise God for He is good and faithful! Thank you for the “update”. I love and admire you greatly. I am going through a similar situation. Your courage and determination to fight for your marriage is very inspiring. Keep pressing forward because even in the middle of what looks a “big mess” God is using you to be an inspiration to many women. Much love to you and your family.
Lysa,
I have been searching for a post from you and am so joyful to see this message from you today and to read Art’s name in your post. God can heal! Far beyond what we can imagine or understand. Continued prayers for you and your family. You encourage us all too focus on our progress towards Christ. You are such an inspiration to be more than a bible study girl. ☺ thank you. I know God is going to keep using you.
I’ve traveled this road and never had the opportunity to save the marriage. Praying for a miracle 🙏🏻🙏🏻
Lysa, I think you paint beautifully. Turn your simple paintings into notecards? I would proudly purchase, send to my friends, even frame.
Blessings
Linda
Continued prayers for you and yours….love the picture, and the story reminds me of a saying I’ve framed….”Your ability to create is evidence that your Creator loves to share with you the pleasures and wonders of His own powers and abilities”. I consider my crafts, my therapy, and time for closeness to God.
Lysa,
“Not one prayer you’ve whispered on behalf of my family has been wasted. God is moving and we are so thankful. Art and I are both praying for a miracle and walking the road to healing.”
Praise the Lord! He is faithful and His Unfailing Love really does change everything!
My family and I will continue to pray for you and your family!
Beautiful artwork, sister! Mom knows best!
God bless you!
Marcella Kramer
Your tree painting is gorgeous. I would purchase it! You are talented in many ways!
So good to hear from you. I think of you and your family often. Stay tough and tender.
Lisa I too have been going thru 4 years of going tnrough the fire with my husband. God never gave up on him and we are both seeing healing. I pray that God is doing tbe same for you & others that are going through very difficult marriages and relationships. Love can be very hard sometimes. But the love Jesus gives us brings the strength we need to persevere.
Hallelujah and praises to God for your praise report. Lovely, lovely painting.
You have no idea how much hope your post gives me.
“For I, says the Lord, will be to her a wall of fire round about, and I will be the glory in the midst of her.”

Praise God! Our prayers will continue!
Praise God for His faithfulness. Ongoing prayers for you and your family. My Sunday School class (ladies) is currently doing the Uninvited study! Last weeks lesson was such a gentle reminder that no matter all the mess circumstances seem to bring, to ALWAYS look for the blessings, miracles, good things in the mess. How vital scripture memorizing is! Lisa, I have followed Proverbs31 Ministries for several years now and have participated in some Bible Studies. To know how much you were struggling with this journey you are now on and you still wrote the Uninvited study. Thank you, thank you, Lisa. You are such an inspiration and blessing to me and I thank you for your ongoing obedience and faithfulness to what God has called you to. There is a lesson for me to learn here…to not shrink back during these tough times and so much more…
Love & Prayers,
Sharon
So glad to hear from you. And hallelujah that healing is in progress. My heart broke for you and your family when you told us the news. Praise be to our wonderful God!
That’s a lovely painting, Lysa. I will continue to pray for you and your family! God is faithful. He will carry you on every step of the journey. You already know that . . . you taught me that truth. Love and blessings, Carrie
So good to see a message from you Lysa! Prayers for you and your family continue. It can be a long road and God is faithful. Love the painting, just beautiful like you.
Prayers for you and your family and you go thru this difficult time.
Your honest gut felt devotions even when they were about times when you and your family have been having “teachable moments” have been what has kept me following you and loving your posts for all these years. I pray that God gives you the strength and courage to get thru this difficult time in your lives.
Lysa, thank you for the update. You are loved and covered by prayer. Loved your painting. Keep it up. God is so good and is always there for us. This struggle will just make you stronger and able to reach more hurting women. You picture would make a great graphic with a scripture verse.
Hi Lysa
Like so many, I was thrilled to get your message, and thankful that you are able to praise God in your circumstance. Also, to hear that Art is part of the journey …. however that is….. and that your mum is still very much involved! – what a beautiful painting….. from the replies – we are all on journeys, and it is encouraging to know that we do not travel alone. For all the replies that have their own story, I included, we trust the same God who is in control. Now when I pray and the Lord brings to mind you Lysa, I will also pray for the others who have been strong and courageous to mention their own struggles, and would also ask that you pray from me too. Praying for the miracle also.
Love, love, love Lysa. Looking forward to seeing you in Orlando. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
I am keeping you and your family lifted in prayer and trust God to heal and restore. I join my faith with yours and praise Him for the VICTORY!
Dear Lysa
A few years ago I was very actively involved in a church. Active is an understatement. The more I did, the more I was asked to do (yes, at that time in my life I was a people pleaser more than a God pleaser) One Monday morning, after an exceptionally busy Sunday filled with teaching, meetings and ministries, during my personal devotion time, I realized, and even said out loud to God, how exhausted I was. My exact words were, God I’m doing more for You than I ever have before but I feel empty and exhausted. And then God said (not in an audible voice -it was much louder than that) “ I haven’t asked you to do all that you’re doing”.
I was in shock as I allowed the realization to sink in that I indeed had taken on things just because I could. There was only one ministry God had truly led me to do.
I made an appointment with my pastor and his wife that day and explained my situation and convictions and asked that over the next few weeks, they begin looking for other leaders to step up and take over all of my responsibilities except for the Prayer Ministry. That was the one thing I knew God had called me to do. My pastor and his wife weren’t happy about my decision and tried desperately to convince me otherwise it I stood firm.
I immediately began to get the cold shoulder, not only from them but other leaders in the church. My family and I were no longer invited to social gatherings of our church friends and I was also “relieved” of my position over the prayer ministry. I was heartbroken and in disbelief that I was being black-balled by my church leaders. I suspected that there had been a deliberate and organized attempt at my ousting and that indeed was confirmed by two leaders in the church, one of them being the associate pastor. He came to my husband and I and told us that he had resigned and he and his family were leaving our church because he refused to be part of the effort of ostracizing me.
The hardest part was that God still had not released me to leave that church, even though I pleaded with Him not to make me keep going where I clearly wasn’t wanted. So every Sunday I went and sat on the very back row by myself.
One Sunday morning, instead of preaching, the pastor had an extended altar call. The Holy Spirit prepared me and I was going to play a part in this. The call was for anyone who had a need to come forward but not by themselves. He asked that someone come with each person to stand behind them and pray with them as he came around and laid hands on each person and prayed. I watched as person after person went forward to see who might not have someone to stand with them. It looked as though everyone had a support partner. Then at the last moment I saw Glenda, a shy quiet woman who had severe scoliosis, slip out of her seat and go forward.
I held my breath for a few seconds waiting. Glenda had never responded to an altar call before. She had been ostracized all of her life and made fun of because of her physical deformities and pretty much just kept to herself. I knew immediately I was to go and stand with Glenda and so I made my way forward, gave her a hug and placing my hand on her back, began to pray. As the pastor and his assistants made their way through the throng of people, anointing and praying for each and every person, God did not leave me unprepared for what was to happen. I knew that every person (over 50 people) would be anointed and prayed for except me.
I might have been the only one not prayed for that morning but I still received all that a God had for me. And so did Glenda.
As I walked through the doors of that church to leave after the service that day, I felt a release. I was done there. And I never went back.
I never defended myself throughout this horrible drama. I consistently trusted God to be my Defender. That morning, in front of the entire congregation people witnessed the truth. I wasn’t the only one for whom that was their last Sunday at that church.
Horrible and unfair things still sometimes happen to good people. But God always always always has a bigger plan. Sometimes He enlists (or drafts?!) us in His plan because He trusts us to take part in things that always in the end bring about good. We just have to continue trusting Him as much as He trusts us.
Thank you for continuing to trust and to be trusted to work through all that God is doing and revealing.
And your art is beautiful
You are loved and so appreciated! Continued prayers for you and your beautiful family!
p.s. I’m glad your mom told (bossed) 😂 you to start painting.
They are lovely!!! 😍
Lysa,
Reading your books have changed my life, and I have hurt for you and prayed for you and your family. God is so good, and amazing! His word is truth and real. Will continue prayers. When we are weak-His strength shines through, stay strong.

You are being lifted up sweet lady for God has great plans!!
So good to hear from you Lysa! And happy to hear you two are trying to work things out. God is good and nothing goes unused. Our bible study group is currently doing a study on forgiveness which centers around the story of Joseph. What he went through and how God used him for good. Wow. Take care.
Our Lord is AMAZING!!!
Continuing to pray for both of you and your family!
What a glorious path He is leading you on. Relish the special times with Him and Him alone.
Blessings
Dawn!
Gotta love Moms and their constant love in our lives.
Will continue to pray.
God’s plans are already completed. We just need to catch up to them. Keeping your focus on your Redeemer. You will see beauty and wonder arise from these Isaiah 61 ashes.
It’s promised.
Lysa you are an inspiration! Know you are not alone in your situation and I am so happy for you! I will continue to lift you up in prayer!
Hallelujah for wonderful news! Lovely painting!
Oh Lysa it’s so good to see your post. I pray for your family, and think of you so often. Healing for you and Art, and the family has been part of my prayers. Your an amazing and courageous woman of God and your strength gives all of us hope. God is in control, and He is good.
Sending many hugs Anna
Oh, Lysa, it’s so good to hear from you. You have our love as well … not as perfect as the Father’s, but there you go. We pray for and think of you often. As as the other ladies of Prov 31 – we know you all have targets on your backs for what you do in His name. But, we know our God is greater and as you right said, His love is unfailing. We know it’s still overwhelmingly hard and so we’ll continue to pray. And, WOW, you’re mom was right! How beautiful is that painting?!! It’s really gorgeous. I’m so glad you listened to your mom 😉
Love this encouragement. You go, Girl! And Lysa, too❤️
Thankful for God’s Faithfulness! Continuing to pray that He would bind your wounds and heal your broken heart. Praying He would bring redemption. Peace and strength to you, Lysa, for the journey ahead!
Lysa,
Though I’ve never met you, I love you. Your painting is special and beautiful, like you!
Beautiful, Lysa, as are you!
Dear Lysa,
I am so very excited and pleased to open my e-mail and get a note from you today! I had to look multiple times to make sure it was really from you!! Ha! Needless to say I have missed hearing from you big time.
Just so you know, You-sweet lady and Art and each member of your beautiful family have been in my thoughts and prayers all along!
I will continue to lift you up. I pray the Great Physician will heal all of your wounds and each of your hearts and restore your family.
Praying that not a second goes by that you don’t know and feel God’s protection, love, comfort and peace enveloping you and each member of your family.
And oh gosh! what a great painting! So glad you listened to your mom. You are so blessed.
Love you precious lady.
Marilyn
Would love to have the tree on a greeting card.I do not buy or like store bought greeting cards. This tree just grabbed my attention and heart.
May He grant you according to your heart’s desire, and fulfill all your purpose.Psalm 20:4
So happy to hear from you. Pray for you and your family often.
so good to hear from you! Wow! God has been busy! Yes, totally get the twists & turns, like a river & not even really knowing where it’s going! Although yes, your looking to the Right One, He will never disappoint! We can always trust Him with the outcome!! Have you read Leslie Vernick’s book, the Emotionally Destructive Marriage? It really helps lift fog in those crazy moments, & teaches us how to be God-centered women, whether God is calling us to stay well, or leave well! Continued prayers for you & your family, dear one!
Love your painting. Such a peaceful hobby. I love your book made to Crave it has helped me sooooo much. I really appreciate your ministry and believe for great things ahead for you. One day at a time – healing is a process.
Thanks so much for letting us know what’s happening now. I am crying happy that Art may be coming back to you and the Lord. This has been a heavy thing on my heart. You are the strongest humblest Christian woman I “know” and am so encouraged by you. I’ll keep praying for you and Art and your family.
Beautiful life-giving painting!
Lysa,
I just read this and your previous post and my heart just ached for what you’ve had to walk through . I, unfortunately, had to end a 25yr marriage for the same reasons . We were both Christians when we married and he helped raise my 2 from a previous marriage and we had 4 together . He was a wonderful faithful husband and dad for 20 years and then got busy at his job , got out of the Word , fellowship and prayer , then got offended at church and truly backslid – wanted to take a “ 6 mo break from our marriage “ and went back to drinking , and had an affair . Long story short it ended in divorce . So sad because he’s isolated himself from his ( now adult ) children and grandkids . I HAD to let go and leave him in the Lord Hands for the sake of my own sanity . The Lord has been SO FAITHFUL to take care of me , and I want you to know I’ll keep you guys in my prayers . With two willing hearts , Godly counsel and time for healing , it CAN BE restored . In my situation , my ex never sought to reconcile , but THE LORD has been SO FAITHFUL i could write a book !! He WILL take care of His own and bless you besides !!! He will restore no matter what the outcome because that’s the God we serve as His beloved daughters – our “ DADDY GOD “ is beyond great !!! Love and prayers for wisdom and healing ( BETTER not bitter – Amen !) sent your way and know there are sisters out there who have been through it and because JESUS is part of the 3-fold cord , when the other strand left – I clung to JESUS -and HE GOT ME THROUGH !!! -and He will to ALL Who cleave to Him ! Now I can encourage other broken hearted women – they WILL make it through it – if GOD is for us – who can be against us !!!
Amen! I’ve a similar story and over the last year the way the Lord has shown through in the darkest moments has been amazing. I too am on the road to healing. God has been doing a work in both mine and my husbands hearts and we are fighting the enemy rather than each other. Our Heavenly Father is FAITHFUL ❤️✝️
My heart jumped a little when your blog post came through my email. I am happy to see you posting again. I still continue to pray for healing and restoration for your family.
Thank you SO very much for sharing your heart. You continue to bless so many…. including ME! A friend and I just finished our second time leading a group of women through “Made to Crave.” SO blessed!❤️
after reading your blog Lysa, I had the most peaceful and joyful feeling in my heart for you! I know with God You and your wonderful family will be fine!
Dear Lysa,
So many times you have been in my prayers and thoughts as I’ve thought of you in your journey. Thank you so much for the quick update!
I’ve just finished the book of Job. Suffering comes in many forms, as you know so well. We learn daily that God’s forgiveness is great, He has empowered us by filling us with a part of Him that makes the impossible possible! I know in my life that the mercy of God gave me the opportunity to stay in our marriage. We are now in our fifty-fifth year of marriage! Forgiveness, Mercy, Grace! Does it get any better?!!! It wasn’t an easy road, I’m sure you know, but it can be done.
May you and Art find that God is Able to accomplish so much more than our minds can begin to comprehend.
Blessings on you, and may the peace of The LORD be with you as you continue your faithful walk! We love you, Lysa, and admire your courage!
In Christ, Redeemed and Restored!
Sandy Gobrogge
Thanks for the encouragement, fifty-five years and counting is so amazing!
Lysa,
Thanks for the update. You and your family remain in my Prayers. Your journey is the journey of so many other women and we are blessed by you in so many ways.
May the peace of God which surpasses all human understanding continue to give you peace!
P.S. I love the painting!
❤❤❤
Your painting is beautiful! God bless you!!
Dear Lysa,
I’ve been praying for you!!! So good to have an update.
I will keep praying! Our God is able!
Xoxox – Love you lots,
Courtney
Oh Lysa! I was so happy to see your email today! And I’m so thankful for your transparency. Knowing that God is giving you grace for this journey reassures my heart that there will be grace for my own. You are so dearly loved. Hold tightly to Jesus!
Earlier this evening I was just thinking, I wonder how Lysa and her husband are doing? That thought prompted me to whisper a prayer. Then I sat down to check email and read this update! God is so stinkin’ cool! ❤️
Hi Lysa – I was so happy to see your post today. I have missed your blog comments. Many praises to God for the work he is doing. My prayers for you and your family will continue.
This makes my heart happy. I too am in a restoration in my marriage of 27 years. It’s a messy & unpredictable journey for sure. It’s hard holy things one day at a time sprinkled with God’s mercy & grace that keep my heart on course, one * day*at*a*time. The battle to keep my hands open from the resentment, bitterness & fear is real. To actually receive the goodness of answered prayers for our marriage is much harder than I ever imagined. But here in the hard holy things is where I grow closer to the One who has all the answers! And in God’s perfect timing, Today I started Finding I AM!! He knows.
Hello Lysa, I am from Uganda East Africa. our church at Calvary started studying one of your books in our women fellowship and I love love it its great work. so i checked out your website and then i find you going through hard times but am glad that God is faithful in your life.
I will also pray and continue to read your posts.
God bless you.
I am so glad to see you post again. You always seemed to be speaking to me. I have so missed your wisdom. And I will still be praying for strength and wisdom as God guides you through the darkest days. Love you my sister in Christ
What a beautiful painting! I cried when I saw it. It is the perfect symbol of
how God is working in your life! I know you and your family are going to come
out of this so much stronger!
I have prayed for you and your family. Sometimes things seem impossible, but with God we know all things are possible! Thank you Jesus!!
My husband and I were separated many years ago for a period of 9 months. God eventually brought healing through the heartache and the 30th of this month we will celebrate 34 years of marriage together. The road can definitely have its highs and extreme lows, but if God is there we can have hope.
You brought me through the darkest moments in my marriage. Your words. Your prayers. Your bible-study. I never would have been able to forgive my husband and rebuild our lives together without you. When nobody else would have the right words to say to comfort me…your words led me to the Bible verse I needed to hear.
Please know you are lovingly in my prayers.
Lysa,
I am going through a similar situation than you right now. My husband of 25 years told me of his betrayals 8 months ago. Reading your book “Univited” is helping me heal from this devastating news. The good news that has come from all this is my husband has given his life to Jesus and he is a changed man.
Lysa,
My heart breaks with you and for you. As I sit here reading God’s word, I am praying his promises of restoration and faithfulness, love and redemption into your story. I am praising our Father who knows our fragile-girl-trust-issue hearts “who does miracles for us…that we, and the whole world, will “know that He is the Lord our God, and there is no other.”
Thank you for loving Him, trusting His goodness, and clinging to His grace.
May peace and prosperity be restored to you and each precious heart in your family.
And may God’s Love save many more broken hearts for His glory through your story.
Praying without ceasing…♥️
Lysa!!! I almost fell out of my chair when I saw this post and had to do a double take when I looked at the date to make sure I was seeing correctly. I am soooooooo happy to see you post! I’ve been praying for you girl! Love you!
It’s such a painful journey. I’ve walked it as well. Almost 7 years ago I discovered my husband of 20 years was a sex addict. I was devastated. We divorced because he did not choose recovery. But by Gods grace, we have since reconciled and remarried. Today, I can honestly say, it was worth it to have the marriage we have today. He is so good to me and just celebrated 2 years of sobriety. Still, I’m not gonna lie, the scars remain. But they are healing more everyday. Praying for you sweet woman. You’ve got this.
Love your painting and your heart. I found Jesus along my journey of my husband’s infidelity. So blessed to have His grace and mercy heal my heart. Take care of you. 😘
Love your painting and your heart. I found Jesus along my journey of my husband’s infidelity. So blessed to have His grace and mercy heal my heart. Take care of you. 😘
Such a beautiful, creative woman definitely has the hand of God guiding her. As you have always pointed out in your posts, He’s only a whisper away. Prayers are with you.
Lysa, your honesty and faith are an inspiration and a blessing. Thank you.
Lysa, You are the daughter of the one true King. I have followed you for quite a long time and I just seen your previous post. I am so sorry for all of your heart break and what you are going through. I have been through similar circumstances and remember that God will give you back years and also Isaiah 54:4-6. Please hang in there sister in Christ and thank you for being a wonderful blessing to thousands of woman even in these times. Praying for healing and restoration for you and your sweet family.
Praying for you! So thankful you are sharing your story. You have no idea how many people relate and are learning from you. May God pour blessings over you. He hears all of the prayers and they never go away. Our God…He loves you so much. Broken, beautiful and loved beyond measure.
Lysa,
I hope you know that your bravery, spirit of hope, and endurance to speak truth has only honored Jesus more as the days pass. Somehow in your brokenness – you’ve continued to point to a sustaining God full of mercy while making one day at a time feel possible for everyone. Proud of your fight to get back up!
~ Jen
Isaiah 57 MSG
“I live in the high and holy places but also with the low-spirited, the crushed, and I put a new spirit in them and get them up on their feet again.”
So happy to hear from you Lysa!! Praying for you sweet sister!!
I am so thankful that you decided to give this another try, though it definitely won’t be easy. But as you said, Proverbs 31 women are not perfect women, and we are not married to perfect men! I am praying for God’s arms to hold you close, to be the comfort you need when you feel alone, and for His strength to be there for Art. I pray that Art will be recommitted to you and your children, and that he will renounce all evil. You are a beautiful daughter of a great God!! I am so very sorry for this tough journey you are walking through, but God will use it for His glory because of the woman you are!
Beautiful post & beautiful painting. Thank you for sharing so openly. We continue to pray for you, Art, and your children. ❤️
Lisa, I rejoice with great hope at this news you have shared. May God’s genuine healing be yours and Art’s both personally and relationally.
Dear Lysa, I must have missed the last e-mail I got, but I’ve read most of your books and appreciate the ministry of Proverbs 31! I’m so sorry to hear of this situation and will add Art and you and your family to our prayers. Trusting the Lord will do a mighty work in his life. I grieve with you!
I never knew anything Lysa until I ran across this tweet. Chills are creeping me as I read all of the posts from your supporters. I’m one! But I didn’t realize you had taken a break. My hubby and I are winning this 37 yr. rollercoaster ride called life. We know the enemy in America has come against marriage only because our loving God created covenant. God wouldn’t have given us so much instruction on how to thrive in this life if He knew we would not need it. You’re more than a conqueror in Christ Jesus. You are blessed and was created to be a blessing! Love you!!
Lysa, I have a similar situation to yours and our dday’s are very close. I have prayed for you many times during my own anguished prayers for my marriage as well. I cannot imagine going through what you have in the public realm, it seemed impossible at times for me..and no one even knows what has happened except a very few! God has given you great Grace. I don’t know what the future of your marriage is but I do know that Jesus is holding you close to his heart.
I wanted to die when I found out about my husbands’ infidelity. Thankfully Jesus has restored me and has given my husband the ability to walk in Grace again. We are working on reconciliation. It is loooong and messy road and every day must absolutely be Spirit led. The roller coaster is pretty crazy at times. I hope that someday you will be able to share your story with others who are facing similar situations. Hope for survival in infidelity is so needed in the body of Christ.
Oh Lysa, how nice to hear of God’s continued work in your marriage! Life is messy – and hope is satisfied when placed in the God who is able to do more than we can ask or imagine. May He continue to bless you, your marriage, your family, and your ministry with His absolute best.
Though I know it doesn’t heal your hurts right now, maybe it helps to know that your books are continuing to encourage others, even as you pursue truth in your own battle. Thank you for writing! Thank you for mentoring through your books!
Your painting is beautiful and I’m glad you’re posting again. I have missed your posts. Best wishes to you and Art.
I was so happy to see the email with the update. You are so real! May God Bless You!
Hey Lysa, I heard you at Recreate in Birmingham a month ago after following you for 4 years on Proverbs 31. You shared your story…and I thought of “the Best Yes” girl I grew to know and cherish. Today, my bible study friend called to say you are battling breast cancer and have surgery due Nov. 10. Know we are covering you, your family, and your physicians in constant prayer. You are such a gift!
We love you Lysa!!!❤️❤️
God is doing something new in you 😀 We continue to lift you and your family in prayer, knowing what the Lord has promised and he is Faithful!! Praise God!!
Lysa,
Though I’ve never met you in person, I have been following you and your teachings for years! I have every one of your books and I love them all. I, too, went through a similar situation with my pastor husband. We have went through some years of healing a lot of hurts. I know, from experience, that God can heal and restore marriages. You and Art are in my prayers that God will restore and heal your marriage. Keep up the great writer and speaking!
My family has been going through the same trial. In the beginning of this year we found out my father was messaging another woman. Praise God, we are doing so much better now but there is still much healing to receive.
When you you shared your family update my jaw dropped. You weren’t the first person to tell me this happened to them. It’s more common then people talk about.
I’ll continue praying for your family!
bless you all Lysa, I pray it all works out in God’s will
Lysa
Most of us have never met you but have come to know you through your posts and your books. We know God has your back and we will all continue to pray for you and your family. Your walk at a time of struggle is an inspiration so keep moving forward. PS, the painting really is beautiful.
So many are rooting for you, your marriage and your kids. Whatever the outcome we continue to pray on all of your behalfs. Still lifting prayers from South Dakota.
So good to see your post! I’ve been gaining so much from P31 Ministries, especially with First5 and OBS, but have been missing your unique words of wisdom and faith. Prayers for you and your family continue.❤️🙏💐
My Bible study group just finished your study Finding I Am and have just begun Uninvited. Each day I work on this study I am reminded to pray for you. I will continue to keep you in my thoughts and prayers. Remember…..Live Loved.
Hello Lysa, Am from Uganda, East Africa. Your tweets have always encouraged me, built me up and caused me to think, and I missed them. Little did I know what you where going to through. Am saddened by the challenges your facing, though greatly encouraged that your anchor still holds strong in the Lord. For the glory that awaits you, consider the challenge as a light affliction. May your light shine brighter through the storm, and brighter when calmed. May the Grace of God strength you more. Javan.
Lysa, I was where you are 17 years ago. God did a miraculous work in my heart and in my marriage. It took time but we did not give up. My marriage is strong today…a living testimony of God’s immeasurable grace and mercy. I wish I had the space to share more to encourage your heart and build your faith!
I’m glad you started painting.
Love the flourishing tree!
Love you too!
Hello Lysa,
I am encouraged by your posts. I will keep you in my prayers as God’s perfect will is manifested in your life. God Bless you and keep painting.
Good to hear your “voice” again. Thankful for your answer to God’s call and your trust in Him. Now, speak The Truth in Love like never before. God will take care of your husband for He loves him more than you ever could. You, my dear, must press on toward the mark. The waves of grief will come but isn’t that what under eye corrector is for? 😉 Oh my sweet sister in the Lord, know this momentary trouble does not compare to our eternal reward in heaven and go forth as a daughter of The High Most God – 2Timothy4:1-8 👸🏽
Dear Lysa,
I am writing this all the way from Malaysia, half across the world. Thank you for being encouraging even in the most painful of circumstances, you and your family are in my prayers. I grew up watching my mum suffer through an abusive and painful marriage, but she has always kept her faith and as a result have grown to be a much stronger Christian than she once was.
Its a good to remind ourselves that we live in a world of sin, deception, Christian or not, we are not immune to pain, trials and heartbreak. Let us not rely not on our own strength but God’s, there will be times when you question God’s faithfulness and struggle through the pain. Still, He SEES YOU from above, loves you and will be with you every step of the way.
1 Peter 5:9-10 Resist him, firm in your faith, knowing that the same kinds of suffering are being experienced by your brotherhood throughout the world. And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you.
We have missed your teachings Lysa! Continued prayers that God will provide you the strength encouragement and wisdom you need everyday! #first5
You are an inspiration to all thanks for sharing your heart it shows all of us that Satan is on the prowl looking to see who he can devour. But our wonderful Lord and savior Jesus Christ reigns supreme He is always with us he never leaves us praise be to God no matter what we are going through or have yet to go through he has us in his hands and will comfort and guide us as long as we seek him with our whole heart. I know it’s so hard doing this thing we call life I just praise God I’m not alone! I pray for continued healing for your marriage that It will be restored and whole once again. With love from your sister in Christ, Traci
Dear Lysa,
I have been lately having you in my thoughts, not seeing you for a while in my study over the several months.. first5. Today I came across your blog. My heart was broken to here of your difficult journey. Prayers for you as your heart heals and hurts along with your children and for them. I can somewhat relate, my daughter is in a very similar situation, work, money and infidelity were his true love. Broken was she only after several months of marriage. My young adult daughter steps into the nightmare of child custody. Pride and jealousy has risen to new levels in this man and father. We know God will answer and protect as we trust him. May God answer your hearts desire and grant you strength every day forward. May He heal and give wisdom to your children. May love cover all and give you peace as you lead many. God bless you.
Beautiful painting – amazing how God births such glory right in the midst of our hard places. Continuing to lift you, Art and your family in prayer. God delights in doing more than we could ever imagine possible – trusting Him for the impossible.
❤️❤️🙏🏼❤️❤️😘
Yes, your mom was right! Your flourishing olive tree is so precious. Just like you. Precious in His sight.
I have missed your posts, but understand you need time to heal. Painting is a wonderful creative outlet. Hugs & prayers.
Jeremiah 29:11
Lysa,
I am enjoying your book, “Uninvited” now thru Bible Study with women at my church.
I sadly experienced what you have in my marriage over 5 yrs ago. I fought for my 31+ yr marriage, we went to counseling etc…but he chose this young (nearly our daughter’s age) woman he’d met online over me & we went through divorce in January, 2014. Also, Sadly, he claims to not believe in God.
I still have my struggles…with rejection, trust, feelings of inferiority and much more. But I know God loves me and is my one Constant in my life! Your book is truly food for my soul right now.
I will pray for you, Art and your family! Keep the Faith, Sister in Christ!
Jill
Keeping you and your family in my prayers. Let your light shine, you inspire so many of us! God bless you. Debbie
Lysa thanks for the update. The ladies from my church and I are going through your study, Uninvited, and your stories of rejection really touch me and really glorify His mighty name. I know that God is doing something great in your life with this “new” rejection that you’re in the mist of and God will be glorified. He’s done miracles in your life before and sweet sister He’ll do it again. Live loved my friend. Love your sister in Christ, Michelle
I am happy to hear about your healing. I am in that place of betrayal right now, trying to know what God is saying it seemed like i shouldn’t quit but now it looks like its over. It was suggested i read your book Uninivited and look into P31. I am doing both. How do you know when its over? That, that is what God wants. I’m so lost.
I am here as well, 9 months in, praying for an answer to either keep fighting for this broken marriage or let him go. He has been very unfaithful with multiple women over 17 years. His level of lying and deceit knows no bounds. He abuses alcohol as well, and every couple of years we complete a cycle of sobriety marked with a period of abuse only to return to sobriety again. He is actually living with his new mistress and her children while sporadically seeing our 10 and 9 year old. My family, his family, our Godly friends, and pastors have counseled, prayed and fought for our marriage, but now all are telling me to let go. I just haven’t found the strength to yet. I love him, I love our family of four, I want to heal and restore but if he isn’t willing, what other choice is there? I know God doesn’t want me or my children to live in this constant cycle of substance abuse, lies, and faithfulness. I feel very lost most days.
You are as beautiful as your outstanding painting. God has rooted you and he is your vine. May you continue to abide in his light during this darker season. Much love xo nanc
The group I lead just finished “Finding I AM”. We all agreed this has been one of our favorites! The weeks spoke so personally to many of us! “I AM the Vine” (week 6) spoke directly to me, and God confirmed numerous times, that he didn’t create me just to be “good enough”
All I need is to ABIDE, the rest will follow! Our group has and will continue to pray for you. Whatever the outcome will be, we appreciate your openness and your vulnerability more than you know! We all have hidden struggles and trials! God created us first for His glory, next for community! Remember the turtle formation that Pricilla Shirer wrote about in her Armor of God study? We need to lock our shields of faith together! Take care my sister in Christ! Keep marching on!
My husband of 38 years has just filed for divorce. We have 4 beautiful adult children and 4 grandkids. He has another woman and suffers from depression. I am in great dispair. God is continuing to uplift me but my heart is broken. Sheri
Oh, Lysa – So glad to see your post. We women/believers could never thank you enough for being so BRAVE to openly live your faith in God out – as in the open; as in a fish bowl. I pray that your testimony/life will continue to bring about the glory of God and your heart’s desires. We are going to do one of your Bible studies in Jan. 2018 at my church in the women’s ministry. I can’t wait.
Still praying for you and yours in love – Pam
We’ve missed you.
(And moms are always right) 😉
Our womens group just finished Finding i am”..i am 75 and have been to many bible studies however this was the best one of speaking to me. I am divorced…and my heart feels your pain. I was even leading an on line proverbs 31 group..Freesie..gave it up 2003..however i am still in touch with 5 of the women through facebook…still pray for them.
We hope to be able to do another of your bible studies. We had about 23…and all loved it.
God bless you and your ministry’s.

I love your painting. Beautiful. I just left your conference in Orlando “The Word Alive”. I’m so thankful for the blessing God has given you in your talent of sharing His word and teaching. Your insight and instruction has been transformational in my life. 7 and 1/2 makes months ago I embarked on a journey of spiritual renewal together with a focus on a healthy lifestyle – mind , body and soul. I read “Made to Crave” and uncovered some life altering , ground shaking truths about myself, my relationship with God and how it all related to my weight – which at that time was 249 lbs. Today , armed and equipped with the truths I discovered through reading your book, lots of prayer and repentance and reflection, as well as a healthy eating plan and exercise I’ve lost 94 lbs. No, that’s not a typo. Ninety four. I say that because it still blows my mind. In this journey I experienced a physical and spiritual encounter with God the Father , Jesus the Son and The Holy Spirit that I’ve never known or thought possible and I know it was your leading through God’s Word and truths in “Made to Crave” that were instrumental in this. So for all of this I’m so eternally thankful. Now I leave “The Word Alive” with a renewed mindset as I take on a continuing battle that threatens to destroy my family – one that seems in my mind insurmountable. It tears at my soul and breaks my heart. I rest yet again on your words and teaching and I’m thankful yet again God is using you in such a powerful way. I’ve kept you and your family eternally in my prayers these past months and am so happy that God has continued to lead and heal you and use your brokenness to bring healing to so many like me. Thank you thank you thank you and may our loving Father Bless you and your family. 🙏❤️
My husband and I have recently divorced after 21 years of marriage due to a long term extramarital affair. I am heartbroken and still praying for the miracle of restoration. I have heard the promises of God and believe He is able. I pray God will do a major work in his heart and I will see the promise of his salvation fulfilled. I am very encouraged by your words and your heart. Thank you so much for your honesty and vulnerability. I believe God is doing a work in my heart to know that only He can give me what I need.
Thank you again. Praying for you and Art and your family.
Holly, another wonderful online ministry that will bring you encouragement as you stand in the gap for your marriage and the restoration of it is called Restoration Marriage Ministries. It will bring you comfort, encouragement and the help you will need as you “stand” for the restoration of your marriage. God will work in even the most hopeless situations!! Please look this ministry up!! It has helped me during my own marriage restoration!! God is a prayer answerer!!
My husband & I are a testimony of restoration after heartbreak, heartache, & even divorce (after 19yrs of marriage). I’m believing the same for you & your family! There is always hope. It’s never too late. Praying for you.
Dear Lysa, I have been walking the same journey as you these past two years and understand the depth of the pain that you have experienced. My husband and I had been happily married for almost 28 years when he began to go down a dark path and make a series of poor choices that he now deeply regrets. I don’t know where you are on your journey right now, but I want to encourage you to press on and continue to fight the good fight no matter what the outcome looks like for you. By the grace of God, my husband and I have worked hard and restored our marriage and it is more for fulfilling and beautiful than ever! I have written about our story and shared it with others going through this same heart wrenching experience. I know that not all marriages are salvageable. I know, however, that God is faithful and will never leave you or forsake you. You are dearly loved by Him! I’m praying for you and your precious family. Mary
Lovely painting. Mom knew best! <3. Continuing to pray for you all. ((Hugs))
Your faith is an inspiration! God is fighting on your behalf. Rest in his great love!❤️
I’ve wondered about you Lysa as I still do First Five every morning. Happy with the ladies who are in this ministry but miss hearing from you. So thankful you and your husband are not giving up.
Praying for U!
You and your family have been in my prayers since you went on sabbatical. I continue too pray fo r each of you and the doctors and nurses who will be caring for you. God wo tks in mysterious ways but know he is with you all. Please keep us updated. Prayers for healing and as littl e pain as possible. Love you my sweet friend Elaine
Lysa, I just want to say how much I have appreciated your words of wisdom, after first becoming aware of your ministry when I joined a ladies Sunday School class and we used one of your books. I’m enjoying and benefitting from every word of “The Best Yes”, which I’m studying on my own, and even taking notes on! I was so sad when I came onto your website for the first time a few minutes ago and learned what had happened to you. But I admire your courage and faith deeply, and will keep you in my prayers.
Love in Christ
Nancy
One of my favorite verses in all of Scripture is when King Jehoshaphat was afraid of the great army of enemies who were attacking them, and he proclaimed a fast, gathered the whole nation together and prayed, incredibly humbly for the king, I think, “Lord, we don’t know what to do, but our eyes are on You.” (2 Chron 20:12). That’s a perfect place for y’all to be.
Lisa,
I really don’t know what to say. My marriage of 30 years is ending whenever I see the attorney on Friday. My husband has had numerous adulterous affairs in that time. We divorced 2 years after marriage because of an adulterous relationship with his secretary. I was pregnant with our first son while this was going on. After 1 year of the divorce he asked to come back home and we worked restoring our marriage. 11 years ago and after 2 more sons he began to be “emotionally” involved with several women. Five years ago I heard him talking sexually to a woman on the phone which I asked him to leave and we were separated for 1 year. He again asked to come back home and we sought counseling and renewed our vows. That night I caught him in another lie. I began to close up emotionally and over the course of 2 years he never touched me. In July he became involved sexually with a woman 3 times younger than he. I asked him to leave and am pursuing divorce and should be final soon. I feel like I have hurt God’s heart because of making this decision. I have sought God’s direction over the 30 years to forgive my husband because I have wanted to glorify God in my husband’s life and be an encouragement to not ever give up to those who are watching my life. I love my husband but know there is more here than I am able to fix. I have been in leadership roles in my church and today I feel I can’t do that anymore. My husband again wants me to take him back but I can’t this time. Please pray for me, my 3 adult sons and for my husband. If you have any encouragement please share it with me. I know you understand.
Lysa,
January 19, 2018, I will be a seventeen-year-survivor of breast cancer. You are in His loving care.
God is capable of all miracles. He is the Saviour. The painting is nice and thanks for inspiring so many people.
Lysa,
I love your books… just finished reading Unglued! What a great read. I’m also praying for healing in your marriage as well as your surgery. As you know, God is faithful.
Many blessings to you and your beautiful family!
I just heard your message today. I must say it brought tears to my eyes. I prayed previously for your marriage to be restored and I’m happy to hear that God has been working on behalf of your family. Since it’s December, I know you’ve been through your surgery, and are on the road to recovery. Being a person that has been through many trials and tribulations, I know that my strength comes from The Lord. As does yours. I also know that strong Godly women cry in private and grieve that way in their trials as well. I know your happy face and Godly wisdom comes from the one who loves you most. Praying for you in those private times, when you and your Heavenly Father are alone. I love Joshua 1:9 as I know you do as well. My thoughts go to Psalm 91:4. I know He is sheltering you, and covering you with His feathers. God be with you precious Jesus girl. You have touched many hearts and lives by your obedience to The Father.
Hello Lysa and all you Sisters in the Lord.
My name is Dave. I am the husband who cheated on his wife, nothing physical, all of it long distance, emotional affairs thanks to my misuse of the internet and my giving in to sin. My wife found out… This was 11 years ago. We had been married for 28 years at that time and our marriage, while broken, was restored thanks to my wife who was willing to forgive, a wonderful pastor who counseled us according to scripture, and most of all to the Healing power of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
As I read all these posts I am taken back to that time right after the Lord revealed to her what I was up to… The pain, grief, heartbreak, betrayal my wife went through. Not only her but her family. I am sitting here writing this with tears running down my face, crying for the pain and suffering you are going through, and reminded how selfish we can be when we turn our backs on the Lord and go our own direction.
I don’t want to make this any longer than it is, and I do not write for sympathy ( I was the guilty one, my wife was the victim) but only to let you know restoration is possible.
I am truly sorry for what you are going through, and while I know I am not, but as the guilty party in the betrayal of my wife, I feel responsible in a way for your betrayal as well. I am praying for you and your husbands. May God be glorified in and through you.
I pray this message is taken in the spirit in which it was written.
Humbly,
Dave
