Women of Faith Webcast Replay

June 28, 2013

I had so much fun with my friends at Women of Faith and Saddleback Church on Tuesday. Here’s a snapshot from our planning meeting for the Women of Faith tour this fall. It was all business with Lisa Harper, Sheila Walsh, Holly Wagner, Christine Caine and me.

Spending time with these friends was incredibly refreshing.

And then we did the webcast! We talked about everything. And I mean everything.

Let’s just say Spanx came up in conversation. Honestly, I was relieved at their stance on said unmentionable due to the little problem it caused for me a few weeks ago.

Ahem.

Anyway, if you didn’t have a chance to catch the webcast, the replay is available to watch below!

P.S. If you’re looking for the sneak peek from my new book, take a look at yesterday’s post.

    Lysa,

I am sitting here this morning rejoicing with a grateful full heart! I missed the live webcast due to a work event but how God’s timing in our lives is NEVER off! I needed to hear the words of dealing with my children’s choices and decisions. Oh my heart is blessed and free of the guilt and condemnation that being a Mom (especially to adult children) can bring. Thank you for being vulnerable and open to being a vessel of healing to so many of our lives!

Thanks so much for making the replay available. I loved hearing you Lysa and am so encouraged! One thing that touched me was the Proverbs 31 illustration about rising while it is dark; I never thought of darkness as anything other than nighttime! What an awesome insight! Thank you for being a willing mouthpiece for The Lord! May God bless!

I just got to watch your first webcast and I’m in tears with gratefulness that I have the ability to hear you and see you, where some can not. I already feel inspired to talk more about God and my Love for him. Thank you from my soul, for putting this on and talking our faith through as something that IS a part of our lives, not something we need to pick up and carry, like we do our burdens. God Bless You all. Holly is such a hoot also and my husband and I will pray for Lisa and her daughters adoption.

    Thank you!
I have now got a new meaning about the proverbs 31 women who I felt i could never measure up to her…so encouraged by this video and message from all you women who shared…

I cried through Lysa’s message. Right now I am walking through my daughter’s decision to live with her boyfriend and other things. I was totally blind-sided by this. She and I were so close–now she doesn’t speak to me. I haven’t seen her since early May. All I know is that she has done some awful things that are completely out of character and that may cost me financially. And, yes, I did draw a line directly to my weakness. Then Lysa said that maybe God chose me to be her mother because I would pray her through this. I needed to hear that and the rest about setting my heart and mind on things above.

And, the Spanx and the biscuit and knife thing had me laughing my head off–had my own Spanx moment!! The whole webcast was great!!! So glad that I got to watch it!!

Thanks so much for airing the webcast for those of us who missed it the first time. Your words, Lysa, on the behavior of our children drawing a line affecting our hearts hit home and brought tears to my eyes. It seems to be something that is rarely talked about due to perhaps shame and certainly sadness. I plan to claim those promises you mentioned with a “therefore” in the future. Looking forward to “Women of Faith” this year!

Let’s stand together and pray for one another. It is so easy to respond to our adult kids out of fear. May we choose to stay in our peace and not not be moved and speak what we want to see. There is no greater joy than to know our children walk in truth. The joy of the Lord is our strength. And as we speak truth in love and keep encouraging them that God loves them no matter what, I have seen God change my Fear to faith in Him and miracles happen. May our children see us living a life of faith and contentment so they will want we have..an identity in Christ not moved by our circumstances. I hate when I blow it but thankful I can talk to them about
Jesus who is grace. We overcome by the blood of the lamb and the word of

Honestly….I haven’t watched the podcast. However, I wanted to say thank you for being so honest in all that you do. I am just now reading Becoming More…. and am on the section dealing with thoughts – and interestingly enough, read the beginning of Romans 8 again this morn for the thousandth time but of course saw it in a whole new light today – love God’s timing!!
What stopped me, though, was your sharing about having to get up and CHOOSE to run. I know my health is simply better when I walk, but it is hot, the dogs had fleas, oh, the excuses could go on and on…..however, I am focusing on taking care of me (now that my girls are grown!) and will make the choice to walk the neighborhood!! So, headed out and walked the big circle today – ah, victory through Jesus!!!
Thank you, again…..I do look forward to the podcast when the house is a bit more still! (both girls home for summer – love it!)

Lysa, I watched the podcast last week, but so forgot to comment! Since turning 30, I’ve become forgetful, graying hair, and can’t eat what I want! I absolutely love you! I love how real, honest, and vulnerable you are with your audience. It’s makes its easy to relate to you and see that God brought you through, surely He will do the same for me. I also, adore Holly! I had the privilege of seeing her in person when she came to my church’s Flavour event. AWESOME! I hope I will have the opportunity to see you live in action, as well! You are an awesome woman of God and thank you for all you do in the P31 ministry!

Thank you Lysa for the uplifting massage of God’s love for all of us inspite of our sins in the past and present. I have been struggling with some health issues and during your talk, I close my eyes and pray hard to the Lord of healing and I was able to see dark around with a silhouette of light…I start crying to God for healing and peace knowing and beliving that He was touching me at that very moment. I felt a warm sensation all over my body giving me the reasurance that “HEALING WAS MINE AND THE DEVIL WAS NOT GOING TO TAKE AWAY FROM ME”. I am a 64 y/o mother of 4 and live in a small town “Toutle Town” in Washington state near Mt. St. Helens. I am in charge of the Neighbor to Neighbor ministry in my church here, (Toutle Christian Fellowship). I watched the webcast. It was awesome. Thank you for your honesty and authenticity. I have done your “What happens when women say yes to God” bible study, it was so life changing that I am doing it again online through Proverbs 31 Ministries. I am also reading your book “Am I messing up my kids”. I love the name as I have wondered many times if I am truly “messing them up”. I am sure you hear this all the time, but your ministry has been very inspirational. Thanks for “keeping it real”, I look forward to your next book:)

Lysa, I completely identify with the not liking surprises so much! My husband (and extended family) know not to try to do anything for my birthday without running it by me first. I usually end up ruining it! 🙁
I also have to tell you: I did the 6 week Unglued Bible Study with ladies at church and loved it! I couldn’t stop sharing with everyone how much I was learning and how it was shaping my “imperfect progress” of life! My sister just informed me today that she went and bought the book, too! She’s so excited about it! 🙂 Thanks for following God’s leading to help others biblically work through their emotions.

I am so into the message. Everything hit a raw nerve for me and jerked me back into the reality that I am not alone in the day to day struggles we all face. It can be so stressful when our children make poor choices and I can easily fall into the bad mom role – good mom role based on the choices they have made. Thank you for the honesty that has touched my heart and helped me see more clearly my role as one of God’s Girls!
