Free Copies of UNGLUED!

My new book, Unglued, doesn’t release until August but Zondervan (my amazing publisher) was kind enough to send some pre-release copies! Yes, pre-release copies, which means you’ll get to read it before anyone else.

And I have some to give away today if you leave a comment below telling me a friend with whom you’d like to read this book. Three commenters will win one for themselves and one to give a friend!

If you were standing in my kitchen right now you’d see me doing two things:

* A cartwheel (a scary one with bent legs and an off kilter landing)

* And you’d see me handing out a few advance copies of Unglued with shaking hands and eager eyes.

I told some friends yesterday that releasing a book is a bit like putting on a bikini, standing in front of the world, and daring to ask, “Well, whatcha’ think?”

Not that I’ve worn a bikini in years nor have plans to wear one in the future, but the vulnerability of seeing my heart displayed on thin white pages for all the world to read is a bit like that.

It’s terrifying and wonderfully exciting all at the same time.

The terrifying part is nothing but unfiltered insecurity. Let’s just call it like it is.

But the wonderfully exciting part is pure hope that this message…might it help you:

* Know with confidence how to resolve conflict in your important relationships.

* Find peace in your most difficult relationships as you learn to be honest but kind when offended.

* Identify what type of reactor you are and how to significantly improve your communication.

* Respond with no regrets by managing your tendencies to stuff, explode or react somewhere in between.

* Gain a deep sense of calm by responding to situations out of your control without acting out of control.

You want to know one of my “unofficial” goals for this Unglued book? That you will be laying in bed one night and either call a friend or roll over and say to your husband, “Oh my heavens, I have to read you this part. This story will show you, I’m not the only crazy one with my reactions and emotions. Oh my stars, you really aren’t going to believe this…”

And then you’ll keep reading and somehow, through the tangle of my stories and lessons learned and Biblical insights, you’ll grab hold of some truths that will shift something deep inside. A wonderful shift that helps you make wiser choices in the midst of your own raw emotions.

Yes, that’s my hope.

So, without further ado, here’s a little picture of the advance copy of Unglued! And no, there will be no pictures of that bikini I mentioned. Oh heavens no!

I finished Made to Crave and the devotional. I’ve lost 39 pounds thus far and I’m starting the study with 15 women at our church. When I got to the end of the devotional and read the exerpt from Unglued, I realized that God had set me up……again! I had to get through the weight to start addressing the real deal.Geesh….that God, He sure knows what he’s doing :) I’d like to read the book and give the additional copy to someone that doesn’t realize that I know she struggles in exactly the same way. And since I already purchased a copy and it is on it’s way, I can give one to my best girlfriend as well. Can’t wait for this journey!

O M GOSH this is what I need. It seems that everyday my kids push my buttons and I come unglued. I pray and try and we talk and talk and talk about it and nothing changes. I don’t want to be unglued. I want harmony in our house. I have a 5 year old and an 8 year old and even though they love each other they are each others worst enemy also., boy vs girl girl vs boy and I am suppose to be the ref. Please help!! The pressure of work, home and limited time in mornings and evenings seems to be our biggest issues. Feel like I am in a pressure cooker and need some help. Thanks

After watching the webcast last week and reading the first two chapters there is not a person in my life that this wouldn’t help. But the one person I want to share this with is my mother. Our family has gone through a major change in the lest few years. Right after watching the webcast i called her and told her she needed to watch it. I don’t know if she has or if she will but she loves to read and if she receives a book from me I know she will read it. Thanks for the book and webcasts they are helping me to stop and think before acting:)

My whole life is a constant battle with communication and relationships. I feel just like the woman on the cover of your book! Like screaming into a bag!!! A good friend Judy and I have sadly mirrored our lives and I would love to share this with her too. From childhood relationships, marriage, very difficult children, job, financial and life stress…maybe some resolve can be found in the pages of Unglued!

I am a single mom. I am doing a life group on this. I am low on funds. Would appreciate for me and my daughter at school to get a copy.

I attend a women’s group at my church, WOW, which stands for Women on the Walk. We start up Sept. 18th and our leader has chosen your book for us to go through. I am really excited to start this. I just had my third child and am feeling spread so thin like there is just not enough of me to go around so lately unglued is how I feel!

I am leading a home Cell Group and we are studying your book What Happens When Women Say YES to God. We started with 4 ladies and by the 2nd meeting grew to 14! The ladies are so excited as they are challenged in their faith. With such results, I am already praying and considering the next book of study. I saw your book UNGLUED at the bookstore the other day. Woke up early this morning and decided to research the content online. This website came up first! I’d love to have a copy to review as I plan ahead for our group of ladies. God is moving and I want to stay in the flow of His movement as I lead these ladies on this journey of radical obedience! Thank you, Lysa, for your honesty and transparency in your writings. You are a life that is making a difference.

    Hello Ms. Lysa,
I attended the ladies night held at Turning Point on Monday night. You gave a wonderful, enthusiastic message! God really spoke to me that night, and when I feel like a conflict is going to arise I pray to God and ask him to help say the right words and be like Him. I am so grateful I had the chance to attend that night. My soon to be Mother in Law invited to it. I am soon going to be married and the examples you gave about battles we have in life really got me thinking about being prepared for challenges and conflicts I will have. But with the help of God, He will guide me to make wise choices. Thank you for the time you spent to be with us that evening. I really liked how you mentioned the way we explode and stuff lol I would say I am sometimes a stuffer, and I spoke to my fiance that night, and told him I was a stuffer sometimes, He said “huh?”, I explained to him that it meant holding in emotions and thoughts and then exploding them. I told him how sometimes women record everything and use it to bring it out at a specific moment. Which we shouldn’t. My point is you used words and phrases that will stay in my heart forever. I will try and follow the Master! I know every woman that was there felt the presence of God and was touched in some sort of way. Keep up the good work and may God Bless you and your family! Not sure if you are still giving away a copy of your book, but I would like to have one to give as a gift to my future mother-in-law as a thank you, for inviting me to an awesome inspiring speech.

I would like to share my extra book with my small group as we will be studying it soon.

  11. 2388

Lysa, I receive by email daily devotions and today I read one of yours that really spoke to my heart. At the bottom it referenced your book and after listening to the first video, I knew that I needed this for me and my daughter. She is my youngest who just turned 18 and is a senior in high school. She has decided to stay with a freind its been going on three weeks now. I tell you that I’m seriously becoming unglued! Boy could I use that book and hopefully talk to her about us working on it together. We both need help communicating, and not reacting with our mouth.

  14. 2391

I often have difficulty with exactly this feeling of becoming unglued. This book would be a good learning tool for both me and my daughter. If i would be lucky to get this book I would be thrilled

It is such a joy to read the things you have to share. You have such a great personality and I look forward to each email from you. My friend Carol Baldwin would love one of your books. She too has a great personality and sense of humor. I would love to have the money to share your books with every lady I know. I too am a writer and appreciate each word you share. Someday, I may be published and sharing alongside you. Until then, I will enjoy receiving your ministry via email. God bless you for all you do for Our Lord and for the wonderful person you are. Laura

My friend Debbie and I have read Made To Crave. I’ve always have a hard time reading books but your’s always hit the spot and it’s like you are reading Debbie and my mind. I love sharing things with Debbie because we are most of the time on the same page in our desire to grow as Godly women. I’ve wrote you before and told you about all my medical problems but having Debbie to share with is so helpful. I can’t work and Debbie has a job where she works with teenagers that have problems.mentally and physcially. I hope you’ll pick us and we can share with each other the things you have written and the things God has laid on our hearts. Love you. and your ministry. Someday I hope to be able to come to your conference.

My daughter is going through such a difficult situation. when her husband was not yet a believer, he was unfaithful and that led to an illegitimate son who now will be part of their lives. She struggles daily with how to do this gracefully, lovingly and openly (they have a 2 year old, also). I have forwarded SO many of your devotionals to her that have helped her immensely and on her Christmas “wish list” is UNGLUED. It would be so wonderful if we could read it together as I know it will have tons of insight and inspiration for her. Please, keep your books and devotionals coming! You are God’s messenger.

I am involved with a Celebrate Recovery ministry at my church. I am always looking for resources to help couples in this group. Your book sounds as if it would be very useful for me and to put in our library. May God bless us all as we struggle to learn his direction for our lives and to accept his mercy and strength to love him better as we live with him and our friends and loved ones.

  19. 2396

I am leading a 12 step program in Celebrate Recovery. I have six ladies in my class that are hurting so bad. I was one of them last year. I have come to realize I’m not God. I admit that I am powerless to control my tendency to do the wrong thing and that my life is unmanageable. “Happy are those who know they are spiritually poor.” (Matthew 5:3) The women in my church is going to do a study of you book “Unglued”. We need united in our church. So many people are being hurt. Pray for our church that we will learn not to react with our mouths. God help us all!!! God Bless You!

Lysa, I am really looking forward to reading this new book of your’s….. I Love reading your articles each day because you are just like all other Women out there in the World, you have problems too…. Sometimes when I am going thru a Trial, I feel alone and I think that I am the only one going thru this kind of Trial, but when I read your Topics each day it brings peace to my heart to know that someone else has the same kind of issues as I do…. I apply a lot of your words to my life and I also write them down so that I can read it over and over…. You touch my Life with all your Topics…. I am looking forward to reading your new book and sharing it with my Best Friend, Kim Lawrence…. Thanks Lysa!!!!!

I am so happy to have seen an interview with you on TV just a few moments ago. There has been some chaos in my family recently and I am hoping to share this book with my Mom, maybe even with my Dad. I really connected with what you said about taking even a split second between a cause and a reaction and letting the holy spirit fill that space. It is so important to love people throught strife even when it can be so hard to just listen even though many times that is the most helpful. I am grateful to God everyday for another opportunity to get to know myself and those around me better. Thanks for your helpful words,
    Gracen

Jusr saw you on James Robisons TV program. I called a friend and told her to listen to his other program on another station, later. Your message is just what is needed in her life. She did listen and called today to thank me. I now thank you for your listening to God in writing your book.

I’m 17 year old girl from Melbourne, Australia. I randomly decided to turn on the tv tonight to grab a disc out of the dvd player and came across a show I’m guessing you were on. I’m not sure if it was you but I memorised the book cover that the show was advertising to remember to look up! Because hearing a few sentences you said really got me interested and wanting to hear more! I found that what you said was really true! So thank you! You got me thinking about how awful my attitude was and if I learnt to Pause before I speak It could of helped so much.

  24. 2401

I wonder if this book is sold worldwide? And If I was able to purchase it in Melbourne, Australia? I dont buy online I would rather buy it from a storw if possible ?

I just loved your book Made to Crave and can so relate. Our church is planning to do a study on your new book Unglued soon. I missed the conference when you came to Bowling Green, KY because we had our grandbaby that weekend BUT I heard it was awesome and that you got deep into the heart of emotional stuff. Would love to get a free copy of your book so that I can study up for our class at church. Thanks for sharing your life in Christ with the rest of us. May God continue to bless you as you live and share your obedience.

Would like to read your book Unglued with another girlfriend, since we are Grandmothers and have only sons and all the things we deal with from our sons and understanding why they take things out on us. Have 3 great grandsons and just want to have relationships with them. Our sons treat us like we don’t know anything except when they need us or want us to do something for them.Think your book could help us

Hello! I think I am too late to receive a free copy of the book, but let me try by telling you about my women’s group. It is called, The Sweet Life Cafe and every 6 weeks we choose a new book to study to help us in our daily lives. We are enjoying new women weekly, with an average attendance of 40 – 60. As you can understand it is a challenge to find good books with a bible study. We have been pondering two of your books–Made to Crave and Unglued. So, all this to say we would really love to receive any material from you. Would also love to have information regarding your speaking events.
Thank you for any consideration! Colonel Noella Phillips, The Ray and Joan KROC Center of South Bend, In.
