She Speaks 2012

I am so excited to announce that registration for She Speaks 2012 is now officially LIVE as of late last night. And much to our excitement we’ve gotten so many registrations this morning that we’re already 1/6 of the way full!

The dates are July 20-22, 2012. The conference is held in Concord, NC — just outside of Charlotte. And I’ll be teaching there along with many other experts including some really amazing publishers such as Zondervan, Harvest House, Baker Revell, Tyndale, Kregel, Discovery House, Standard, and Regal.

So, if you’re thinking about coming this year (and we would love to have you so very, very much!) now would be a really good time to register. You can do that by clicking here.

PLUS… if you leave me a comment today telling me why you’d like to come to She Speaks, I’m going to randomly choose 1 person to WIN a $100 SCHOLARSHIP toward your registration fee.

And if you’re clueless about what She Speaks is, you can click here to investigate the whole thing a little more closely.

I’m so excited.

It’s going to be an amazing time!!! You can connect with some of your favorite speakers and bloggers. You can meet with publishers about your book idea. You can learn how to build your ministry and expand your reach.

My team and I absolutely love teaching people how to more effectively write, speak, share their testimony, blog or lead in their sphere of influence.

Hoping to see you in July at She Speaks 2012.

Since I was a little girl I have loved writing, I kept diaries, journals, made up stories, and kept them all to myself – I was scared to share them with the world. As I hit my teenage and young adult years I forgot my passion to pursue other people’s desires for my life. After going through several rough years God broke me, took me through a journey of breaking off an engagement all to end up in His loving, trusting arms. It has been three years since than and in those three years God has renewed in me the passion for writing from long ago. I am currently writing a book and immensely enjoying God’s calling to speak to others. I had my first taste to speak at a small singles conference in February and since then I would love to do it again and again. I heard about She Speaks last year but it was already filled, this year She Speaks is something God has laid on my heart. I work in a full-time ministry and would love to be able to use She Speaks Confernce to futher the work God is giving me a passion for. Thank you Ladies for your awesome ministry!

When I first heard about She Speaks several years ago while following P31, I remember thinking it could not benefit me in any way. But, since having a blog for a lil’ over a year now, I’ve found that I actually enjoy writing. I would love a chance to attend She Speaks! Thank you!

  3. says

I am quite interested in attending She Speaks 2012. I have been teaching women for the past few years. Also I am presently working on a book. I would love to have somebody who would give me advice to help be a more effective speaker and also assist me in helping make this book relate to every person who reads it as well as being personable.

  4. Rhonda says

I would like to come to She Speaks b/c I attended last year for the first time and it was AMAZING!!!

  5. Kim Scott says

I know speaking in front of groups of women is part of my very near future. I am very excited to hear about this conference and I am going to pray that the Lord will make a way for me to attend, as I feel it would be so valuable. I am already wearing many hats in ministry, but the Lord has been steering me more and more towards women the past couple of years. I teach our ladies ministry Bible Study (doing Made to Crave right now). It would me a lot to be able to attend this conference.

  6. Angie says

God called me to write a long time ago an I have not uses my gifts because of the “busy-ness” of life. He has freed up my time and continues to draw me. Now I feel his call to this!

  7. Sabrina says

It has been humbling and amazing to see what God has done in me so that He would be allowed to move through me. When I look at all the trials of yesteryear, I can only rejoice. Those trials have made me who I am–HIS beloved. Too many of us are defeated when we face trials because we take our eyes off the reason for the trials–to make us more like Christ, to build in us the character of Christ. God has called me to share that. She Speaks will be an awesome opportunity to hone those skills I need!

I am so thrilled to attend this event! I’ve already registered, but can I still be considered for the scholarship?? Pretty please? 🙂

Amo falar, escrever, partillhar, ouvir e aprender.
Tenho publicado um livro e outro estarei lançando agora em junho, pra esposas de pastores.
É tempo de preparo- essa é aordem de Deus.
    Gostaria muito de participar.

Is it to late to comment for a chance at the scholarship? Would love to attend again,it is my spiritual refreshment that last through out the entire year! God is so big at this event,it’s amazing! Thanks Lysa!

  11. Crystal says

I would love to attend She Speaks! I have wanted to attend for the past couple of years, when I was working on my first draft of a book I felt God had laid on my heart. However, in that time the idea has evolved from a book into leading an outreach for teen girls/young women, so that the things I went through at that time and the mistakes I made might be used for some good.

  12. Brenda says

Not a speaker, but have a deep passion for writing. I find that when I am at my lowest point there is release and a sense of fulfillment when I pour out what is hidden within. Would love to attend your conference Lysa. You are such an inspiration. Thank you much!

  13. says

I was able to go last year and is was full of heart refreshment and serious-good information. And for that very reason, I’d love to go again this year!

  14. Izabela says

I have truly been blessed by the many writers, Lysa included, through the e-mails I get daily from Encouragement for Today. What a marvelous thing it is when God uses the gifts that He has given to minister to others. I have been truly blessed by the words of truth and encouragement. I would love to attend the conference simply to continue to learn more about God and how these gifts of speaking and writing could be used in my circle of influence to uplift those who need it! Thank you ladies, you are a blessing.

  15. Kyla says

I would love to go to this conference, wish there was one close to New Brunswick, Canada:)
May God greatly Bless you Lysa for your devotion to ministry!!!!

  16. says

I’m a girl who loves to write and blog, and having lived a life as an actor/singer on the stage, would love to participate as a ‘speaker’! 🙂 Everything “She Speaks” is about speaks to me – but don’t know that I can swing the conference fee and a flight and hotel – so the scholarship would be a Godsend! 🙂

  17. says

I would love to attend She Speaks. I enjoy writing and an the sort of person that wants to share with others what God is teaching me on a personal level. I am just beginning to investigate the world of blogging and on-line teaching. I have spoken a few times and perhaps as my children grow, God will lead me there again. I have just discovered your site in the past few weeks; the Lord has used it to rekindle my passion for teaching His Word.

  18. Angela says

I have never heard of She Speaks before and I am thrilled to learn of it. I have always had a passion to write, but have kept it hidden due to fear of rejection. In the past month I have started taking steps to make this dream a reality instead of hiding in the shadows. I started my first novel on Tuesday and it seems to be pouring out of me. I would love to go to this conference to meet more like minded people, and find a community of writers. Thank you for putting this on!

  19. Tiffany D. says

Two years ago I was writing Facebook notes regarding lessons I was learning from God and getting great responses. I’ve been journaling off and on for years. I felt God might be calling me to a writing endeavor of some kind. What? No idea. How? Overwhelming.

My passion is to challenge Christian women to REALLY live out the lives in which God has called them. God speaks to me through His Word and I’m always wanting to encourage and share something new I’ve learned. To challenge the hum-drum, status quo Christian friend.

I wonder if She Speaks could be my first step to realizing what God’s plan might be for me regarding speaking, writing, retreat planning…I’m unsure. It might be an opportunity for me to “realize the possible in the midst of my own impossibility.” 🙂

  20. Miranda Bergen says

I have never heard of SheSpeaks until today. I am neither a writer or speaker, but have had a vision for years to go into speaking, ministry wise at least, such as be a voice for women. But haven’t due to fear and just not knowing where to begin. I know with training and just getting out of my own way, that I believe God would use me as a powerful speaker. I look forward to what is ahead and hope to perhaps make it to the conference this summer. May you be blessed!

  21. Cobi Ingram says

Wow. It looks like God is leading a lot of people to your site today who have never even heard of this conference before. He is so good. I’m leaving you a comment to see 1) if I should win, could I transfer my winnings to another person I believe God may be interested in having attend the conference 2) I’d like to offer my help in conference preparation or set up.I can’t come this year because I will be on vacation with my family, but I live close by and I’m thinking God may have led me to your site today to see if there was some way I could help. If you think you might be able to use me, please email me – cwingram15@hotmail.com. God bless you for the work you’re doing!

  22. says

I would LOVE to attend She Speaks one of these years…I’ve been a writer trying to figure out what it is I’m supposed to be writing for years! I need some new, God-breathed inspiration! I’m also a momma, so maybe I just need a good nap…no one ever told me a day with a 3 and a 4 1/2 year old (or many days in a row) would make you more tired than running a 1/2 marathon! I’ve done both…the 1/2 marathon was easier!

  23. says

Every time I see an advertisement for something like this, I never think twice. They always sound so good, but they are always so far away and so expensive. I just add it to the list of things that I can’t do. But for some reason this year, I had a twinge in my heart, like I’m supposed to go to this. I prayed about it, and then got an e-mail about five minutes later from a friend who follows this blog…saying it made her think of me and that I should go. It would still be on the miracle list, but for some reason, I’m willing to believe this time.

  24. says

I know there is no way I could afford to go but I would love to because I desire for my blog to be a ministry and I dream big to be an author one day.

  25. says

I have just come across this opportunity. I live just south of Charlotte and would LOVE to come to this conference. I am expecting my second child and feel that I need to be doing something out of the box different. I have always felt God’s calling on my life for writing and my openess to share my life with others. This would give me some much needed guidance and direction. Finances have gotten very tight and I am reluctant to ask my husband to squeeze the money out for me. However I know that my God is bigger than my circumstances. Thank you for the opportunity.

  26. says

I am considering attending She Speaks because I feel God calling me to step out of my comfort zone and speak more. My first speaking engagement was shortly before the release of the children’s book God called me to write, which gives parents a child-friendly way to talk to their children about inappropriate touch. I have been speaking some since; however, I feel there is so much more to God’s plan. I have been a full time English teacher for seventeen years and will be graduating in May with my Master’s degree. I believe my secular job has actually been preparing me for what God has in store. The She Speaks conference will be a good opportunity to learn more about fulfilling God’s purpose for my life.

  27. says

I am dying to come to SheSpeaks! I am a feeling very called by God to expand from my simple family blogging format into something more devotional type… writing and teaching and would love more training in all those areas!

  28. Aimee Napier says

Like many others have posted, I too had never heard of SheSpeaks! If anyone had ever told me 10 years ago when I was arrested for meth for the second time, violated probation and received a prison sentence that I would be where I am today, I would never have believed them. 10 years before that if anyone had suggested to anyone who knew me that I would ever be arrested or addicted to drugs, NO ONE would have believed it either. Yet both happened to me. While in prison, I was saved (again) truely and found out that it was possible to have a RELATIONSHIP with Christ. He spoke to me & told me I would not go to prison. I am the only woman in the state ever sentenced to prison who never went (per the DOC). I completed ISOM ministry course and am pursuing my degree in sociology. I plan to attend FSU to get my masters in Stratification & Social Justice. I have a dream/vision to change the world systems in place, to enter into the political arena to change public policies toward the least of these my brethren–which usually tends to be the poor, women, children & elderly of all races. I envision picking up the mantle of Dr. MLK and carrying it forward (yes, even though I am a white woman). Its been prophesied I have books inside me that will come forth. Right now I am working to establish a Keep America Beautiful program in our city to promote inner city revitalization. I am one of 3 establishing an AGLOW chapter in our region. Every vision God has given me, which feels like fire shut up in my bones, requires the ability to speak and write powerfully, to communicate the absolute necessity of change everywhere from pulpit & pew to government, to encourage and stir up compassion of people for those in need without a voice, which is the heart of God. I don’t even know how I found this site, except I was led by God. I read the posts of everyone & they are all so good. I know you will have a hard time choosing. I would say that should I win the scholarship and attend the conference, you will definitely get a return on your investment in me. I plan to soak up and use everything God puts in my path to propel me forward to regain the ground the enemy has stolen & to make up for lost time for the fields are white & the harvest is great! Blessings!!

I would SO love to come to She Speaks conf. I have been called by the Creator to reach women through both speaking and writing. I am amazed time after time that He has even called me to this. I am “kinda” close here in Knoxville, Tn and would love to attend the conf. but my funds are limited. My husband and I have adopted 4 children through the foster care system and work full-time in a trailer park ministry. We homeschool all 7 of our kids and live a very simple but busy life. I would love to win a scholarship to this conference to reach out to others on the same path as me in leading women of all age, race and walk of life. There is nothing like encouragement from the body in the midst of service. 🙂

Wow. what an incredible opportunity for women to share their testimonies and gifts with others. It is my dream to start a ministry similar to this one, and I am only praying I will be able to find a way to attend the conference this year. I found out about this conference by “blog hopping,” and couldn’t be more excited about the prospect of travelling the miles to come, learn, and grow! Thank you for all you do, and for keeping Christ the center of your mission.

  31. says

I hope I’m not too late! I would love to win the $100 scholarship. I want to attend both the pre-conference and main conference, so this would be a big help towards the total fee.

From 2009-2011, I hosted a podcast called Rebound with my husband about our journey to debt-freedom, and I even started writing a book about our struggles. I felt a strong calling in my heart to go into ministry at that point, but my anxieties and fears got the best of me. I stopped doing the podcast in 2011 to focus on my wellness and my family, but the calling never left me.

In the last few months, I’ve felt God tugging at me to start writing again, and I started blogging to pour out some of what God has poured into me. I don’t know where my writing will lead me just yet – a successful blog? a book? maybe speaking one day? – but I know that this conference will help get me to where he wants me to be.

Thank you for the opportunity for this scholarship!

  32. says

There are so many comments that are so worthy of this scholarship opportunity. I work in a Christian, non-profit ministry, am fully involved with my ministry with teenage girls at my church, and write a blog. I am led to speak and write and just need a jumpstart to really get going. There are so many people out there that have important things to say and sometimes I get discouraged, but I just keep telling myself that I am the only one that has my voice and I am the only one who has my heart. I would really appreciate this chance to get around other people who write and speak to encourage them and be encouraged. Thanks.
