There is an area of my life where I’m refusing to go techno.
My calendar.
Trust me, I’ve heard the fabulous arguments for keeping your schedule on your smarter than me phone. Many have shown me the fabulousness of being able to link and sink my schedule with my computer.
I know it would probably make life more efficient, savvy, and not look so 42 years old.
I get it.
But I’m a paper girl.
I’m a get out my calendar and write on it in my own handwriting kind of person.
I like the art of it as strange as that may sound.
I like being able to make notes on the individual days while looking at my month as a whole. And drawing a doodle if I so choose.
I like that it can’t break, won’t get erased unless I purposely erase it, and that I make up the rules for its functionality.
And I like that my calendar can’t ring, buzz, or talk to me.
But most of all, I like my calendar to be packaged with a little funky style that makes it a fun thing to glance at several times a day. And then tucked inside I like to see clean, white, organized pages designed with style and purpose.
All that to say two years ago I found… (pause for the amen choir to sing a chord or two)… the perfect calendar.
Glory be, I sure did.

The preciousness known as Emmy started her home business of making calendars and such to raise money so she and her husband could adopt a baby. Paper lover and a heart for adoption? Slap your mama’s knee if this just isn’t a girl after my own heart. (Except don’t slap your mama’s knee if you haven’t been able to provide her a proper toilet in this past week. Ahem- here’s that little story if you missed it.)
Oh, and did I mention that you get to choose the design colors for your calendar and send Emmy the important dates specific to your family so everything is completely personalized? Yes, let’s for sure mention that. Not that I’m not still late on everyone’s birthday.
I am.
If only I could train this amazing calendar of mine to shimmy down to the Target and buy my cards for me.
Sigh.
Now, you must also see that this wonderful paper joy comes in three different sizes. Small for young eyes and people who write small. Medium for good eyes and people who simply write. Large for wise eyes and people who have need to make lists of lots of to-do items. Like, “Buy new toilet seat from the Home Depot. Or Lowes. Or the Walmarts. Which ever you pass first today.”

If you want one, click here to visit my sweet friend Emmy and her delightful space on the internet. Be sure to use the code {LYSA10} which will give you a 10% discount through Saturday, August 20th.
Emmy is sweet that way.
So sweet she’s also agreed to give away 2 of her Personalized Planners {your choice of size & style}, and 2 of the new Desk/Wall Calendars to randomly chosen commenters on this post. Just pop over to Emmy’s site and then come back here to leave a comment telling me what you liked.
“Sometimes I pretend to be normal. But it gets boring. So I go back to being me.” That’s a quote I like from the top of the December page in my calendar. Paper calendar that is.

Lysa, Thank you so much for sharing this site! I too love being able to write my own things down by my own hand and all the comments about paper calendar vs. other device. I haven’t had a planner in almost a year because I’m very picky about the style, etc. that I just haven’t found the right or close-to-right one… and I’ve been looking!
I also love that even while becoming busy with the orders, Emmy still took a little time out to write a note about how the business is going, how glad to be mentioned by you, and other little tidbits. she’s got wonderful, helpful photos and descriptions of the products.
However I obtain one, I like the Medium Personalized Day Planner Weekly / Monthly Calendar. It might seem strange, but I am excited about having a space for notes on meal-planning/ blog to-dos, things I certainly could use help with!
Again, thank you, Jennifer
