Last night I wrote this in an email to my P31 sisters as we gear up for our annual “She Speaks” conference. While we are so excited about the conference, the attack leading up to this year has been especially hard.
If you are coming to She Speaks this year, maybe you are experiencing some crazy discouraging and defeating things too. Well, honey, let me assure you- you are not alone.
Even if you are not attending She Speaks, I have a feeling there is something in this post for you as well….
I have had four conversations this past week with friends who feel incredibly alone in their struggles. So, after another conversation yesterday where someone so precious to me admitted she was crying on her bed begging Jesus to come back right this minute, I realized Satan’s all out attack is to make us feel isolated and alone.
Sweet sisters, you are not alone. Everyone else is not doing peachy keen fine. Everyone else has not mastered life. We are all DESPERATE for Jesus in our own way.
There are others whose kids are making poor choices. There are others whose husbands have hurt their feelings. There are others who marriages are being assaulted.
There are others whose sour cream is growing mold in the fridge. There are others whose pants from last year don’t fit. There are others who feel woefully inadequate.
There are others who have friends who don’t get it. There are others who are PMS’ing so badly they feel they may hurt someone. There are others who are wondering why in the world did God call me to do this?
So, each time you feel these kinds of pangs and are tempted to beat yourself up — flip it around and use it against Satan.
“Satan, you meant for this to tear me down. But actually, you have just done me a favor. I am reminded that I am not alone.
There must be one of my sisters facing this same attack today. Now, I’m going to pray for her and know for certain I’m also being covered in prayer.
Perfect love, which is what we have for Jesus and each other, casts out fear. So we are not afraid of you.
We are a sisterhood of Jesus girls and you have absolutely no place to try to trip us up, knock us over, bring us down or wipe us out.
No sir. You and your bad mama jama demons can just go on back to hell where you belong. And on that note, I’ve given you enough of my precious time. The end.”
Now, take your hand and dust yourself off. Do not let any part of Satan’s attack define you in any way.
If there’s something Jesus needs to address with you, so be it. But remember Jesus doesn’t use the statements, “You always” and “You never.” Jesus doesn’t use our situations against us… He simply brings truth to life and asks us to align with it.
I love you sweet sister and I don’t take kindly to Satan bullying you in any way.
You are not alone. I am not alone. We are not alone.
“And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast,” 1 Peter 5:10.
